Benvenuti!

I’m Rachel. Woman, lover, creator, multi-passionate human being, and a firm believer that experiencing true and honest connection is the key to everything: in life, love, travel and wellness.

  • I am passionate

….about the human experience. I live compassionately, remaining judgment-free with myself and those I love. I adore deep connections and I adore social gatherings. I love to get to know people intimately.

Yes, I am a people-person and a (very proud) extrovert but I also value moments of solitude. I love connecting people and their lives and love watching and experiencing those connections grow!

  • I am particular

…and I deeply believe in living to our own rhythm, and not a society dictated one. Living between two cultures has given me so much to explore in terms of societal standards, what is “normal” and the rules and traditions that we allow to dictate our (one wild and precious) life.

It took me years to accept that I need at least 2 hours to have coffee, journal, and daydream every morning and even longer to consistently honor that need.

    What’s your non-negotiable?

  • I love people

As Maude says in Harold and Maude “they’re my species”. I live for humans, almost like a social anthropologist. I love getting people’s entire life story within minutes (a secret skill). Also, I love people watching - mostly in a non-creepy way.

  • Over the years

…my work has become a mixture of my talents, my gifts, my passions and experiences. I feel lucky that I have been courageous enough to (mostly) live to my own expectations only to create the life and job that I am doing today:

Empowering women on their journey to discovering themselves, to create magical and authentic experiences for travellers in Italy and to share wellness practices that enrich life.

My journey.

I’ve always loved Italy. In fact, when I was 13, I made a list of goals for my whole life and the first thing I wrote was “move to Italy”. Eccomi (here I am). From a childhood dream concocted in Asheville, North Carolina to today. I fell in love with Rome over ten years ago and have been sharing that love ever since.

I believe that experiencing a connection to a destination is the most important thing we can give ourselves as travellers. It is my intention that you experience more than just the surface of Italy. Whether you want a complete rejuvenation in the form of a yoga + self-care retreat, help planning a wellness event in Italy, or a more high-paced family vacation curated with love and care, I’d love to work with you.

After years working as a tour guide and trip planner in Italy, I realized that my so-called ideal lifestyle of “balancing” 9-10 months of exhausting daily tour guiding (sometimes 25+ days without a single day off) followed by a few months of rest and relaxation was not sustainable. In short, I was running myself into the ground. In 2017, after a particularly hard and busy tourist season (and a few major events in my personal life as well), I took a break. Following a dream I’d held for years, I became a certified yoga instructor, and the rest, as they say, is history.

When I returned to Rome after my yoga teacher training, I returned to tour guiding with a completely different set of eyes. I found that through my knowledge of yoga, I had gained the ability to be present in my body as I spoke to clients, taking the time to look them in the eyes, allowing them more space to absorb the vastness of Rome and personally enjoying the entire experience more than I ever had in the past.

In 2020, everything changed again. A job I had learned to love with brand new eyes disappeared overnight. Over the course of two years I found myself re-inventing my career more times than I can count. It wasn’t easy. However, I managed to finally accomplish a life-long dream: I co-hosted my first wellness retreat in Italy in August, 2020. In the fall of 2021 I began a coaching course through The Somatic School, based out of London, that has allowed be to follow yet another passion of mine: the connection between mind and body and how to help people experience themselves more deeply and embody their bodies. I am currently training to to become a certified Body-Oriented Coach.

What do all these things have to do with each other? If I’ve learned one things from the Italians it’s il dolce far niente. The sweet joy of doing nothing. I believe in slow travel, in taking your time to experience the sites around you, in staying present in the experience you are having, through your mind and through your body.

People often tell me that my love for Italy is contagious. I know one thing for sure: You deserve to take care of yourself. Whether it’s a retreat, a one-day event, or a group yoga class, I want you to experience wellness, Italian style.

If what you want is to book a tour in Rome with me, I am here for that too. I still adore this Eternal City all the way down to my bones. I am taking a limited number of bookings right now for day tours and experiences. Is one of them yours? Send me an email to inquire.
